Be back soon!

Sorry for not posting anything this week. It's just that I've been so busy in school and medical school application and everything's piling up on me. So, I won't be posting anything in the next few days. Wish me luck in my exams and hope that I'd finish everything in time! :)

Cheers!

Top 5 Songs of the Week: Feel Good Mellows

Hey guys! As promised, I'm gonna do a round up of my favorite songs of the week! My choice of songs this week are quite random. When I listen to them I just feel better especially when I feel down or not at my best so here it goes! :)

Top 5: In Christ Alone by Owl City

I was browsing through Youtube for Christian Songs for our special number presentation next week and found this. I didn't think that Owl City composed and sung Christian songs. I love Owl City. Their songs are so nice and smooth to the ears. My favorite line of the song would probably be, "What heights of love, what depths of peace
. When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
. My comforter, my all-in-all
. Here in the love of Christ I stand." It's such a beautiful song. I really recommend you listen to it.

Top 4: Helium Hearts by Jason Reeves

I also found this song while browsing through Parachute videos on Youtube. This is one of the many other songs of Jason Reeves that I love. I also love the music video, so cute! :)

Top 3: Turning Page by Sleeping at Last

This song was actually on the soundtrack of the new Twilight movie "Breaking Dawn". It was played during their wedding and honeymoon. I loved the melody and I searched for the lyrics. So lovely! I downloaded the whole soundtrack of the movie and this is the only song in it that I can't stop listening to :) My favorite lines would be, "Your love is my turning page, where only the sweetest words remain. Every kiss is a cursive line, every touch is a redefining phrase. I surrender who I've been for who you are, for nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart. If i had only felt how it feels to be yours, well, i would have known what I've been living for all along. What I've been living for."

Top 2: Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute

This my all time favorite song from my favorite band in the world! :) This is my feel good song whenever I need some cheering up. It's just so nice. And the lyrics are meaningful and so nakakakilig! :) My favorite part of the song is the bridge, "And it's hard to love again, when the only way it's been, when the only love you knew, just walked away. If it's something that you want, Darling you don't have to run, you don't have to go."

Top 1 Song of the Week: I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz

I actually liked this song because I was watching Jayeslee and their cover of I Won't Give Up and so I looked for the original one. It's really nice. I promise you, when you watch it, 5 minutes of your life won't be wasted!

I Won't Give Up
When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
There's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
Still looking up.

I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough, he knows (I am tough, I am loved)
We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

So there it is! My first "Top 5 Songs of the Week". I hope you enjoy listening to all of them. :)

Cheers!
Hannah :)

DIY: Recycled Fabric Fringe Necklace

Hey Guys! As mentioned in my previous post, I'm doing new features here on my blog, and this is another one! :) I was so inspired by DIY blogs especially A Beautiful Mess by Elsie Larson so I decided why  not make my own DIY projects! And this is the very first one of many! :) Enjoy!

You will need: an old shirt (any color, with any pattern. It will be better if that shirt doesn't have loose threads), scissors, necklace chain.

I used this shirt as a costume during a production number in our church and since I have no other use for it, I recycled it! :)

Measure the chain around your neck and cute it in your desired length.

Tie the fabric around the chain. It's up to you how many you want to tie around it. Just make sure to check it and wear it around your neck if you like the look of it. And just have fun with it! Let your creativity flow :)

Here it is! Look how pretty that is, especially on a collared top. You can cut the fabric to your desired length. In my case, I love the look of it the way it is. Hope you enjoyed!

Cheers!
Hannah :)

Janella's 21st Birthday Surprise :)

Last March 2, one of my best friends Janella celebrated her 21st birthday. It was a Friday and she had classes, so she was all alone in her dormitory. So, me and my other friends decided to throw her a sort-of-surprise birthday party on March 4. We planned it the whole week. I made the banner and the collage, and also the cake. The others took care of bringing her here at home where we will celebrate it.

That was the video of Janella's reaction :) She almost froze there, but we can tell she was really surprised. She even got teary-eyed. Everything turned out so well :)

I'm really blessed with having friends like this. Friends who are always there for you through thick and thin, gives you encouragement, makes you smile and are almost like your sisters. And most of all, bringing you closer to God :)

Happy 21st Birthday again JANELLA! :)

Medical School here I come! :)

Oh my. This is quite a late post. I'm sorry for the late update but I can't help but share this great news with you guys. From my past blog posts, I talked about how I wanted to take up medicine. I've only applied to one med school, and that's FEU NRMF. I've made this pact with God that if I pass or get accepted to FEU, I would pursue medicine, but if not, I won't. I applied to FEU last year December and had my interview and orientation last February. During the interview, I was so nervous cause I think everything I answered to the interviewer's questions were all just at the tip of my tongue. I was in the first batch of interviewees, you see and we were 4 students interviewed at the same time by 2 doctors. I was so nervous I almost couldn't breath. The interview lasted for about 10 minutes or so. After that I patiently and anxiously waited for the results to come out.

I was praying for this cause this is a very big decision of me. And for me, this is God's will. The day of the release of the results came and all day I was refreshing and reloading the website of FEU NRMF, scanning if the results had already come out. Alas, I saw it, "1st batch of accepted applicants". I actually scrolled and scanned the whole list, looking for my batchmates' names, cause honestly I wasn't expecting to see my name there. Then I slowly looked to find my name, and yes, there it was! I was sooooo happy I  almost oushed my sister out of bed. Hahaha. Thank God! :)

I was so happy. And now I've reserved my slot and I'm going to enroll soon! It just goes to show that trusting God really pays off. If you put your life in His hands, everything will play out. And even if at times it's not how you wanted it, you are in good hands, because it is what's best for you. God is so amazing! :)

LOVESTRUCK

Last February 19, our Youth Ministry had a Youth service themed "Lovestruck". Our main goal was to reach out to young people and promote awareness about the Christian concept of romantic love. We held it at JRM Bataan at 6 in the evening. We had praise and worship, youth style. We also had a lot of special numbers - singing as well as dancing. We also invited a band to perform. It was so much fun! I am glad that we were also able to reach out to these young people and bring them closer to God even in these little gatherings. We were actually scared that only a few would come but thankfully. God really grants prayers! We had more than 30 new young people. Praise God! :)

Our emcees Arth and Mel.

"Nothing is Impossible" sang by Aldrin.

Word of God shared by our very own Youth Pastor, Pastora Eve.

Our dance team, "The Radicals"

Faith singing "Forever"

The band.

Me singing "How He Loves"

Nitoy singing old Filipino love songs.

Tin snging "My Soul is in Your hands"

We ultimately had a lot of fun. I was really please how big the turn out was. God is really good! I am looking forward to more gatherings like this :)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile." - Jeremiah 29:11-14 NIV

HONGKONG Adventure: Day 4

The next day we went to Ngong Ping. It is a Buddha Temple on a mountain. We had to ride a cable car past about 2 mountains. It was so scary for me. I was holding on to the handle bars the whole 20 minute ride. It was really cold.

After that, we went home. My Aunties and Mom decided to go shopping around the city. I didn't come cause I was really tired. We had a flight home next morning so I had to pack my things. They were lucky cause it still was winter sale, so they bought stuff for half their original price. I loved my stay in Hongkong, actually also in Macau. I was so fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to go there. Hopefully, I'll be back! :)
