Life is beautiful.

Last November 6-7, 2011, me and my family had been given the opportunity to come back to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan. We went there almost 2 or 3 years ago and the place wasn't that fully developed. I went there 3 times I think and this time it's the 4th. The place was much more beautiful and the vibe is very historical. When I first went there, I felt like I was transported 100 years ago. And it felt good to see how wonderfully creative Filipinos are and how Philippine history is much more interesting than I thought. We had a tour of the houses; 4 houses I think. We went to the replica of the old University of the Philippines. Some of the parts of the houses were from the original.

Those were holes where the students held up hammocks to sleep in.

It began raining so hard during our tour so we had to put on rain coats. I also had to walk barefoot because my sandals are not waterproof. After that, we decided to go and play table tennis, since they offered it at an hourly rate.

Then we went swimming in the pool. The water was so cold, we had to move around all the time to prevent ourselves from shivering. It was still kind of raining at that time.

After we went swimming, it was around 6:30pm. We then took a bath and got ready for dinner. There was a cultural night where there were ethnic dancers performing different cultural dances.

This is what we had for dinner.

This is fried chicken. The chicken wasn't dry at all and the skin was tasty. But the sauce was simply ketchup, I wished it was gravy though.

We also had Fried Fish with Tausi Sauce, black beans and tofu. The fish was crispy and not soggy at all, and so as the tofu. The sauce wasn't enough though.

This is Seafood Kare-kare. The sauce was good, but the seafood wasn't enough. It seems that the only seafood here is prawns. It should've been called Prawn Kare-kare rather than Seafood Kare-kare. A hefty price for such a small serving. We also has dessert; braso de marcedes and something like baked meringue which had a sweet custard inside. I don't know what it's called but it was good. The Braso de Marcedes didn't disappoint too.

After dinner was the cultural night. There were 4 dances I think and they also serenaded us with cultural songs during dinner. The last dance which was the Tinikling which was really interactive. They had the audience dance with them, I was too scared to try hahaha. I enjoyed watching though. After that, we took pictures and me and my sisters took outfit posts too.

The next morning before breakfast, we went to the beach to take pictures again. Unfortunately we weren't able to view the sunrise. It was so hot outside then. We then went to ride a kalesa.

The kalesa ride.

This was our room number.

This was where we had our breakfast. Really cool ambiance.

I had tocino with scambled eggs, garlic rice and also native hot chocolate.

After breakfast, we packed our stuff and prepared to go home. But we took a lot of pictures also.

After that we took off, and went to the nearest market. We purchased octopus, mamali fish and tanigue fish. Then it was a 1 hour ride home. This probably is the greatest place I've ever been to, more then Singapore. I feel so grateful to God for being blessed with an opportunity like this. Thanks for enduring my very lengthy post. :)

Cheers!
